Love this spread by Corrie Bond for Marie Claire Australia...love the moody blues and nautical stripes, makes me yearn for the cooler beaches of Northern California.

Bachelorette Party - Sea Ranch Lady Love
So thankful for my girlfriends who organized the perfect weekend in Sea Ranch for my bachelorette party. Hike to the beach, delicious homemade meals, impromptu mani/pedis and pop music dance party were just some of the highlights of a fantastic weekend. Now only 2 months 'til the wedding!
Bungalow
This Austin vacation home from Apartment Therapy has me wanting to decorate a small getaway home of my own! Love the warm colors and woods, and also seems to accomplish a nice mix of old/worn and modern.

Dream Collective
Was taking a stroll in my hood yesterday, and ended up at Kathryn Bentley's newly redone shop Dream Collective on Sunset and Micheltorena, and loved what I saw. She's carrying some really exciting designers and has curated a beautiful little space. I scored some new jeans (has anyone tried thvm jeans? they're made in LA, and make the perfect high-waisted dark skinny jean). And of course, Kathryn's jewelry is also to die for.

Wedding Shoes

I'm starting the search for shoes for my September wedding, and although I would realistically never be able to walk down the aisle in something so high, I reaaaaallly like these shoes - especially the Robert Clergerie pair, as they look just vintage enough to match my dress. And the blush color would match the bridesmaid dresses. And yet, alas, comfort will inevitably prevail and I will surely end up in flat sandals. Boooooring.
But holy shit, look at these dreamy pink Miu Miu's with sparkles on the soles! Come on!

Big Sur
Another wonderful trip to one of my favorite places on earth. Big Sur
never ceases to leave me in awe, it's landscape is so magical and
dramatic, yet the town is so understated and seemingly from another era.
Weekends like these make me so happy to live in California.

[New] Chairs
I found 2 of these chairs at St. Vincent de Paul thrift store in Highland Park a few weeks ago, and while I obviously wasn't sold on the upholstery (eeek)...I thought the frames were worthy enough for some rehabilitation. And they were a steal.
I really wanted to try my hand at dyeing fabric, and when I found some really heavy vintage linen at an estate sale, I brought it home and Patrick and I spent one incredibly messy day dip-dyeing the linen for an ombre effect.
When that was done, I took everything over to my friend Libby at Ranch n' Roll, who is a re-upholstering cowgirl. She also informed me that the last place these chairs were reupholstered was a local California prison, where they teach inmates how to do upholstery as part of their rehabilitation! Crazy, right? Libby said there were rows and rows of staples underneath the fabric, probably out of sheer boredom...or excitement over the staple gun. Either way, those guys get some rehab, and so do the chairs...but I still made a point to bless them with sage on their way in the house...just in case.
Now they are my new captain's chairs for the dining table.
What do you think?
