With the 405 freeway closure and the supposed traffic that is to envelope the city this weekend, I have officially designated Saturday and Sunday as staycation days, and I can't wait. I shall be accomplishing the following:
1. Getting my ass kicked at a couple classes at Pop Physique.
Continuing on my little documentary-fest I've got going in my house recently, I just watched this gorgeous film Alamar by Pedro Gonzalez-Rubio. It follows a little boy from Italy to Mexico to visit his father, a fisherman in the picturesque landscape that is the Banco Chinchorro Barrier Reef.

When Brazilian artist Vik Muniz visits to photograph the workers, they soon become involved in making replicas of their photos using material from the landfill, serving as active participants in their own art.
