le weekend

Apologies for not posting for a while now, but this weekend away was strictly "no-computers-allowed" - a very necessary rule for our technology-addicted household, I think.  Some dear friends of ours let us borrow their car on Friday to take through Normandie, and here are a few photographs of our lovely weekend away...

We started going Northwest from Paris, stopping in Giverny to see Monet's garden in full bloom.

The wisteria was in full bloom and fragrant here, and is all over Paris as well.

We then made our way North to the coast of Normandie, stopping at Omaha beach to see the memorials there, where family members of mine, along with so many other soldiers landed on D-day.

We then ended our trip at Le Mont St. Michel, a tidal island that is the home of a monastery that dates back to the 11th century.

We are now back in Paris on this rainy Monday, trying to prioritize what I want to do in my last week here with Patrick before returning home to Los Angeles.  What a lovely trip it has been so far!
